Two Engineers
Decades of Experience
THOMAS LIBERTINY
General Contractor
Thomas Libertiny is a general contractor in Kentucky. He is the founding partner of Craftsman GC, where he leads the general contracting team.
Tom earned an MBA and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University (Michigan). During his capstone year in undergraduate school, he developed a networked computer-integrated manufacturing facility that included robotics, automated storage, and CNC milling machines. During graduate school, his finance and marketing team developed a business plan for how to enter the Chinese automotive market for Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis (formerly DaimlerChrysler).
He began his professional career designing assembly and test equipment for the automotive, aerospace, medical, and semiconductor industries in North America, Europe, and Asia. This led to his patent of a ” Magnetorheological fluid coupling device and torque load simulator system” for the automotive industry.
His work expanded to Project Management, from conception to site installation, with notable developments in buildings that were explosion-proof for testing equipment handling combustible fluids and ultra-clean buildings for the semiconductor industry.
He began his journey as a general contractor during his undergraduate studies, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in several US states. This experience led to his election as Chair of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity-Detroit.
Tom previously served as a Senior Vice President (New York) and on the Board of Government Relations (Washington, D.C.) for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
As a general contractor, Tom collaborates with homeowners, architects, specialty contractors, utilities, and the government to deliver the highest-quality homes.
SUSAN LIBERTINY
Operations Manager
Susan Libertiny is the operations manager for Craftsman GC, where she ensures that every aspect of our clients’ projects is completed on time, to budget, and with the highest quality, while maintaining regular communication with our clients.
Sue earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University (Michigan). During her capstone year, she specialized in material property analysis and automotive vehicle assembly.
She began her professional career at Ford, working in automotive powertrain manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe, which led to her becoming the head of quality for Ford’s Windsor Engine Plant (Canada). Her engineering skills and understanding of design-for-quality led her to become part of the powertrain team for hybrid and electric vehicles at General Motors, Stellantis (formerly DaimlerChrysler), and Ford.
She is a regular volunteer at her church and participates in community hunger relief campaigns. She is also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, where you’ll most likely find her operating her favorite Bobcat Loader during home builds.
Sue is an award-winning garden designer, and her YouTube channel has over 4 million views.
